" Handwritten postscript: " Please wire me a receipt of this that the matter is having attention.In 1897, upon the death of George Pullman, Lincoln, who had moved to Chicago in May 1865, the month after his father's assassination, became acting President of Pullman's company. Lincoln was present at three presidential assassinations (those of his father, and of Garfield and McKinley). He made his last public appearance on May 30, 1922 at the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
