Typed Letter Signed: " Jimmy Carter ", 1p, 7¼x10½. Plains, Georgia, 1976 September 2. On his personal stationery to Mr. In full: Bernard Rapoport told me of your generous help in the past. I just want to say that I hope we can count on your help for a Democratic Victory this year.

I think you will agree that the Democratic National Committee must do less so that all of our candidates can compete with the Republicans on an equal financial footing. That is why I will be doing everything I can to help in this all-important effort, and why I hope you will do the same. Bernie will be calling you in the next few days. I hope you will tell him that our Party can count on your contribution.
