Roland Dubs as a Lieutenant in the Army. From what I have heard & seen of him I believe him to be worthy of the appointment which he solicits; it will, therefore, be gratifying to me, in common with his numerous friends, should he prove successful.

There is no record of DUBS' appointment in the Army. However, on March 1, 1847, President Polk appointed Roland Dubs of Pennsylvania as Consul of the United States for the port of Maracaibo, Venezuela, a post he held until his death in 1855. Military forces and successfully directed the second Seminole War.
