HENRY "HECK" THOMAS and NED SISSON Thomas signed this Autograph Letter to fellow Deputy Marshal Sisson in 1900, requesting a second warrant for the arrest of John Trimble.

Sisson signed an autograph note on verso requesting more information, and Thomas signed a reply to that query. Autograph Letter signed twice : "Heck Thomas", 2 pages (front and verso), 8x10½. Anadarko, Oklahoma Territory, 1900 October 24. On letterhead of the Office of the U.

In full: Please allow me to send for another warrant for John Trimble. I have warrant 5281 for him issued at Guthrie.

He is a hard man & I would rather have the enclosed warrant when I make the arrest. Will you kindly fasten all the papers in Trimble warrant together. I enclose warrant issued here. Additional items mentioned are not included.

Please have it approved & docketed & also the one I enclose for Ted DeGarner. [signature] I will return all subpoenas served tomorrow from? Autograph Note signed on verso: "Sisson" : Heck - You do not say whether offense described in new warrant is a different offense from that described in warrant #5281. If the same, return #5281 & I will have the new one approved. If different, let me know that fact & return papers.

Another autograph note follows, signed "Heck Thomas". In full: Dear Sir, This is an entirely different offense and you can see from items outside that I have other cases against him. He killed notorious outlaw Bill Doolin and shot another, Ned Christie. He was numbered with Bill Tilghman and Chris Madsen as one of the "Three Guardsmen" promoting law and order in the territory. SISSON was another deputy U.

He also let a prisoner escape while transporting him for trial in Norman, Oklahoma. In 1902, Sisson became Clerk of the 5th Judicial Court.
