ELISHA BOUDINOT The Revolutionary patriot writes in haste, as he departs for the (New Jersey) Supreme Court Autograph Letter signed: "Elisha Boudinot", 1 page, 8x11. New Ark [Newark, New Jersey], 1801 May 1. George Scriba who will give you every information you wish for. A strong revolutionary patriot, Boudinot served on Newark's Committee of Safety and hosted George Washington and Alexander Hamilton at his home. He was a Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1798 to 1804. He also served as president of Newark's first bank, and as a trustee of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton). His brother, Elias Boudinot, was President of the Continental Congress and the second US President under the Articles of Confederation. George Scriba was a prominent New York City merchant.
