Please look at the photos closely. You will receive the exact item pictured. This is a four page letter signed by Lincoln appointed Supreme Court Justice Stephen Johnson Field. It is dated April 17, 1889. It is a personal letter where the first 3 pages were apparently dictated by Justice Field and written by someone else.
Signature is on page 3. However the fourth (back) page has a P. Which is fully written out by Justice Field.
His handwriting is tough but i believe it reads: P. I intend to go to New York on the 27th and remain until May 2nd. Dudley Field at 22 Grammerly Park.
Perhaps you can meet me there on the morning of May 1st and then turn over to me what is coming to me as guardian. This is an original, authentic 19th century document signed by a historical figure. A very nice addition to any historical document collection. This vintage letter is in good to very good collectible condition. It is one large paper folded to make 4 pages. The first (front side) page has a light age stain at the top center. The middle pages are very clean. The back page has some age stains & some discoloration/toning. The signature is nice and clear.
